Planning Ahead for Your Own Funeral
Some people facing a terminal illness find comfort in having an input into their own funeral service. For many, it’s a way of ensuring that their wishes are honoured and of easing the burden on family and friends when the time comes.
If you’d like to talk about your own service, I can meet with you — either at home, in the place where you are being treated, or via video call if that feels easier. These conversations are always taken at your pace. We can explore as much or as little as you wish, from music, readings and the eulogy, to the overall tone of the service. I can also discuss your thoughts about which funeral director you want to use or alternative options available.
The focus is always on you: your life, your story, and the way you’d like to be remembered. Some people want to shape every detail, while others simply want to leave a few notes to guide their loved ones. Whatever your preference, I will listen carefully and record your wishes so they can be carried out faithfully.
