What happens next?

Once your funeral director has contacted me with your details, my colleague, Frank, is usually the first to get in touch to confirm your information has been received, establish a link, and to assure you that I’ll be in touch personally at some point.

I usually arrange to meet families closer to the date of the service, especially if asked to create a eulogy. This helps ensure that information about the person who has died is fresh and accurate. In the meantime, we can discuss initial ideas by phone, text, or email — covering music, words, and the structure of the service in line with the chapel time allocated — and gather key details for items such as the order of service, which your funeral director may need sooner.

I understand that everyone has different preferences: some families prefer an in-person meeting at their home, some at the funeral director’s branch, and others opt for a video call. While my schedule can sometimes make evenings or weekends challenging, I always aim to be as flexible as possible to accommodate your needs.

Whatever works best for you, I’ll guide you every step of the way, making sure the service reflects your wishes and provides a meaningful farewell.

I understand that waiting for me to get in touch can make people feel anxious and frustrated. My apologies if you experience this. Please get in touch as soon as possible and share your concern.
